Webinar on Disenfranchised (Unrecognized Grief)-[Approved for 1 CE by NBWHC]

This program will focus on discussing the definition of disenfranchised (unrecognized) grief, and different types of losses which can cause one to experience disenfranchised grief. Such losses can include the loss of a loved one who was unacknowledged by family and friends, the loss of a pet, and non-death-related losses, among others. This content will be shown through the lens of several different Thanatological frameworks, and will also include information on potential, readily-available treatment options that many seek comfort in becoming involved with. In doing so, the goal is to increase awareness regarding the ways in which we may be more mindful in our practice of those who are grieving a loss that is rationalized to be lesser in comparison to another.
