Grief Medicine: Tending Our Sorrows in Chaotic Times (Presented by East Bay Chapter, CA Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (EBCAMFT))

In this experiential workshop, presenter Amy Hyun Swart, LMFT, guides clinicians through an integrative exploration of personal and collective grief, drawing on somatic therapy, expressive arts therapy, and a social justice framework. Participants will explore six core forms of heartache underlying grief and learn how modern culture can inhibit the grieving process. Through hands-on exercises, embodied practice, and ritual, clinicians will develop practical skills for working with grieving individuals and groups. Topics include somatic approaches to grief processing, expressive arts interventions, traumatic grief, communal grief, and the role of social justice and cultural competency in grief work. The workshop includes six continuing education credit hours. A light breakfast and lunch will be served.
