Updates to POLST Statute and Form Coming in 2027 (Presented by Coalition for Compassionate Care of California (CCCC))

This webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of changes to California law governing the use of POLST and prehospital DNR orders, following the passage of SB 1088. The changes will take effect on January 1, 2027. Participants will learn about updates to POLST and prehospital DNR forms, as well as changes in practices required by the new law. The session is designed for people assisting patients and caregivers with advance care planning, goals-of-care conversations, and related documentation. The presentation will cover statutory changes, updating clinical policies and procedures, and preparing healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers for the changes.
